Personalized, medically supervised weight management — built around your health history, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Every plan begins with an individualized medical evaluation by a licensed provider, so treatment is recommended only when it is clinically appropriate for you.

Weight management, treated as medicine

At R&R Medical Aesthetics, we offer medically supervised weight-management services for appropriate patients seeking professional support with their health and weight-management goals.

Treatment begins with an individualized medical evaluation to determine whether prescription weight-management therapy may be appropriate for you. That evaluation looks at your full picture — medical history, current medications, laboratory findings when indicated, and your goals — before any recommendation is made. When clinically indicated, a licensed medical provider may prescribe medication as one part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

What that means in practice: this is not a program you enroll in and receive a standard protocol. It is a clinical relationship. Some patients are appropriate candidates for prescription therapy. Some are better served by a different approach. Both are legitimate outcomes of a proper evaluation, and we will tell you honestly which one applies to you.

How It Works

GLP-1 –based weight management

For appropriate patients, treatment may include medications that act on GLP-1 and related metabolic pathways — including, in some medications, the GIP pathway as well. These medications influence the hormonal signals that regulate appetite and satiety, and may help support weight management by:

  • Reducing appetite
  • Increasing feelings of fullness
  • Supporting portion control
  • Helping patients achieve weight loss when used alongside appropriate nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle changes

Medication selection is based on each patient's medical history, current medications, laboratory findings when indicated, treatment goals, potential contraindications, and the prescribing provider's clinical judgment.

The Program

Our medical weight management program may include

Components are selected for each patient. Not every element applies to every plan.

01

Comprehensive Health History

A full medical evaluation covering your history, current medications, prior weight-management attempts, and health goals.

02

Good Faith Examination

Performed as required before any prescription therapy is considered — a legal and clinical prerequisite, not a formality.

03

Laboratory Testing

Baseline and follow-up labs when clinically indicated, so decisions are informed by objective data rather than assumption.

04

Individualized Recommendations

A treatment plan built for your physiology, medical history, and goals — including the recommendation not to treat, when that is the right answer.

05

Prescription Therapy

Weight-management medication when medically appropriate, prescribed by a licensed provider as part of a broader plan.

06

Medication & Dosage Monitoring

Dosing is reviewed and adjusted over time based on your clinical response and tolerance, not a fixed schedule.

07

Regular Progress Assessments

Scheduled check-ins to evaluate what is working, what is not, and whether the plan needs to change.

08

Nutrition & Lifestyle Education

Practical guidance on nutrition, protein intake, activity, and the habits that determine whether results hold.

09

Ongoing Medical Follow-Up

Continued provider oversight for the duration of treatment — including how and when to step down or stop.

Honest Expectations

Prescription weight-management medications are not appropriate for everyone

Eligibility and treatment recommendations are determined following an appropriate medical evaluation. The lists below are general and educational — only your provider can determine what applies to you.

A consultation may be a good next step if you

  • Are an adult seeking medically supervised support with weight management
  • Have tried nutrition and activity changes without the results you were working toward
  • Want prescription therapy evaluated properly rather than obtained without oversight
  • Are willing to participate in follow-up visits and monitoring
  • Are prepared to pair treatment with nutrition, activity, and lifestyle changes

Tell your provider before treatment if you

  • Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy
  • Have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2
  • Have a history of pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, or significant gastrointestinal conditions
  • Have a history of an eating disorder
  • Take insulin, sulfonylureas, or other medications affecting blood sugar
  • Have any other significant medical condition or take medications not yet disclosed

Medication type, dosage, frequency, and duration of treatment are individualized and may change based on clinical response, side effects, medical history, laboratory findings, and provider assessment. Commonly reported side effects of GLP-1–based medications include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, and injection-site reactions; less common but serious risks exist. This is not a complete list — your provider will review the full risk profile of any medication with you before you begin.

Common Questions

Questions patients ask us

Do I need a medical evaluation before starting treatment?

Yes. Treatment begins with an individualized medical evaluation, including a Good Faith Examination as required, before any prescription weight-management therapy is considered. Prescription therapy is recommended only when it is clinically appropriate for you.

How does GLP-1–based medication support weight management?

These medications act on hormonal pathways involved in appetite and satiety. For appropriate patients, they may help reduce appetite, increase feelings of fullness, and support portion control — which can support weight loss when combined with appropriate nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle changes. Medication alone is not the plan; it is one component of it.

Will I have blood work done?

Baseline and follow-up laboratory testing is performed when clinically indicated. Whether labs are ordered, and which ones, is determined by your provider based on your medical history and treatment plan.

How often will I be seen?

Ongoing medical follow-up is part of the program. Regular progress assessments allow your provider to monitor your response, review dosing, and adjust the plan as your clinical picture changes. Your specific schedule is set during your consultation.

What are the possible side effects?

Commonly reported side effects of GLP-1–based medications include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, fatigue, and injection-site reactions. Less common but serious risks exist, and certain medical histories are contraindications. Your provider will review the complete risk profile, including any boxed warnings, before you begin.

What if I am not a candidate for prescription therapy?

That is a legitimate outcome of a proper evaluation, and we will tell you directly. Your provider can discuss other supportive options offered at R&R Medical Aesthetics, or recommend that you follow up with your primary care physician or a specialist where that is the more appropriate path.

How long does treatment last?

Duration is individualized. Medication type, dosage, frequency, and length of treatment may change based on clinical response, side effects, medical history, laboratory findings, and provider assessment. There is no fixed program length.

What does the program cost?

Pricing depends on the treatment plan your provider recommends. Please contact our office at (909) 801-0486 for current pricing and program details.
